Long-delay and Fault-tolerant Network Research
Ohio University's Off-World Communication Protocol research group is currently investigating network protocols capable of functioning in deep-space and other challenged environments; this research includes the implementation and testing of the LTP space networking protocol. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of our reference implementation, please see our implementation page for more details. If you are looking for the LTP specification, it can be found here.
Our Bundling Protocol Reference Implementation in Java is available here
As related work, the group is also building a testbed to emulate deep-space links. If you are interested in the details of our testbed or the tools that we are currently using to emulate deep space links, please see our testbed emulation page.
