The X-Factors

I'm developing the theory that my present state of happiness can be derived numerically from a number of simple factors. The formula isn't complete, but here's a peek at the factors I think weigh most heavily in the computation.

Factors range from 0-1, with zero being the least and 1 being the greatest. To confuse matters, for some factors small is good and for others small is bad. Eventually I'll have pretty icons to indicate this.

The preceeding X- in front of the factor name is in honor of the much acclaimed (hey, it could have been) X-Bitterness-Factor: RFC822 header.

X-Bitterness-factor: 0.2
My present state of bitterness. This is a good overall judge and may, in fact, represent the weightiest value in the finished formula.
X-Pretty-girl-factor: 0.1
This factor is directly related to the number of pretty girls I had seen immediately previous to updating these statistics. Note that this factor is really no longer meaningful, because I spend the majority of my time with Marina. Updated note: Until 8/7/2002 Marina is in Russia so this means something again. ;-)
X-Poverty-factor: 0.50
How poor do I feel?
X-Tiredness-factor: 0.25
This is a complex factor related to both the amount of sleep I've been getting and the hard-to-quantify Interest-factor. You'll see this one grow exponentially toward the end of the quarter.
X-Interest-factor: 0.3
How interesting is my life right now? This is a hard factor to quantify, as I feel it is somehow recursively related to the elusive total factor I am trying to compute. Regardless, I will include it for now.
X-Productivity-factor: 0.6
This is an index of how productive I feel I am being versus my potential. Some days you just can't get anything done...
X-Pretty-day-factor: 0.5
If it's a beautiful day, I'm bound to be in a better mood. No getting around that.
X-Shagginess-factor: 0.5
Now that the Hippie Freak days are over and I'm back to having short hair, this factor is baselined on a look about like the front page image at 0.0. 1.0 is Mountain Man. ;-)
X-Currency-factor: 6/30/2002
This meta-factor is merely the last time I updated this page. ;-)

Note that this list is still flexible and might change from time to time. Hopefully soon I will automate its generation so I can keep it reasonably up-to-date.

If you haven't figured it out yet this is all bunk... It's fun, though.
